I have a Pioneer D1 in an 05 Mercury Mariner. I have already grounded the RCA's and it supressed the alternator whine but there is still some present. What should I try next, a ground loop isolator, or a noise filter on the power to the D1? Thanks for the help.

Um...try making a new ground for the D1.

Also do your amp ground good???

What have you done to the amps ground and read the grounding sticky.

I meant does your amp have a good ground??? Must have spaced out while typing lol

I have two amps MB Quart RAA1000 and RAA4200. 4 ga. each to a distro block and then 1/0 ga. to a stinger grounding terminal. Grounded to floor pan in the back where the metal has been grinded clean and the terminal is bolted down. I had ruled out the amps because I tried the setup with the factory stereo and a PAC LOC while the D1 was being repaired for the touch screen. The ground on the D1 is to the metal subframe behind the dash. Should i put a noise filter on power and ground for the D1? Thanks guys!

Disconnect the head unit from the amps. If the noise is gone, the head unit is the culprit and no amount of filters is going to fix a broken headunit. Thad, if you can borrow another head unit to try as well, preferably not a Pioneer.
