hey there people,

i am having a bit of a problem in my 89 jeep yj, with my speakers, sometime when i am going over a bumb, even on pavement, my speakers are cutting out but my subs are still going and playing the beat of the music, now i checked the wiring of the speakers and they appear to be okay.. i was just looking for a little input from member if they have got any ideas of what the problem might be, i do have a panosonic head unit and the speakers are clarion 4x6's..thanks

scott

Yep, sounds like a loose connection or two.  Check them all including at the head unit.

Stop going over bumbs in your jeep yj.

Couldn't resist the smart reply....speaker problems -- posted image.  Bumbs suck.  Sometimes it amounts to a broken connection on the source unit, a hairline crack that breaks the ground contact with chassis.  It's hard to see a lot of the time, so once you've positively found that all wiring connections are secure with no stray wires, etc., look carefully at the connections to the amp.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

I would assume that the speakers are connected to the radio.  There is a good chance your problem is a bad connection inside your radio.  Easiest way to find out is to remove your radio, tap on it simulating your vehicle hitting a bump.  If it cuts out chances are it is a bad solder joint inside your radio.

Let me know what happens
