Hello, I just installed an Ininity 311a amp in my girlfriends car. It sounds ausome and packs a perfect punch.
My question is about the remote bass control, I was looking at it, and it looks like nothing more then a potentiameter, so I did not buy it.
Would I be able to use a Linear Pot on a phone cord? If so does anybody have any idea what the pins would be?
Also, if I could, could I use a Linear Pot with a Push Pull switch, and have it be the remote turn on? Right now the remote is a physical switch tucked under the steering column, because the deck does not have a remote power, just a remote antenae up. ( ps. if you have a power antenea, its a pain if you get to quick with the source button on the deck, you can make the antenea stick, lol ).
Anyways, huge fan of the site sofar, and I am a relay lover, have been for years, so I will try to help out on that stuff when I can.
Thanks for the help,
Allan/

If I were you, I would just break down and buy the Infinity bass knob.  It is $20 (I know that's alot for a phone cord and potentiometer) but your warranty won't be voided and you won't run the risk of frying parts of your amp.  In my opinion, this is not worth the about $15 saved.  It is up to you though, someone else might be able to answer your questions and how to do it.

Just my $0.02.

Jacob

It would be $20 saved, I have stuff like that laying around. Alright, maybe I'll pucker up and buy the nob, but nobody is going to stop me from complaining about it for an hour.
Its just so ugly is all. I had envissioned it mounted in the dash along with the other nobs for heat and dome light, just kinda blending in, make it look more stock.
Alright thanks! Althought I'll prolly take it apart eventually and come up with something 'better'.

No prob.  You might be able to reverse engineer something from the knob and then sell the knob on ebay or to someone.
