I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero and I have already installed an aftermarket head unit. But, the sound is only coming from the rear speakers and the front tweeters....there is no sound at all coming from the front door speakers.

I installed my DUAL reciever with a wiring harness and I was told that my factory amplifier is causing the front speakers to not work with my aftermarket reciever. I have tried to find a bypassing harness for the factory amp, but I cannot find one for my car.

I'm new to the installation procedure (I guess its because I'm a girl...hehe) and I need some advice to this issue. Also, my factory amps are located in my trunk and each rear speaker has its own amp unit??? The factory amp appears to be a BOSTON brand. Any suggestions?

Do you have the Monsoon system ? If so there should be a PINK activation wire for the amplifier at the HU. Otherwise it may be a DARK GREEN wire ( also the power antenna wire ) and this may also be the remote turn on lead for the amplifier.

Do you know how to connect the pink or dark green wire to my aftermarket reciever? I'm sorry, I have no idea what I am doing.

And when I connect the wire will my factory amp work with my aftermarket reciever?

You will first need to test this wire to make sure that it is infact a remote turn on before connecting anything to it. Use a DMM or test light and see if either of these wires switch to 12 volts when you turn the radio on.
