alpine and toyota tacoma

I have a 1999 Toyota Tacoma extra cab. I just purchased  a Alpine CDA 9883 CD  Receiver with the KCE-300bt  Bluetooth interface, I also got KCE 422i ipod  controller cable dose anyone out there have experience with Alpine and or Toyota trucks, Right now. I am going to run the new receiver 50W x 4 to the Factory speakers; I plan on up grading the speaker end of my system with amps, a sub crossovers. Is there an alpine expert out there that can help me with a set it up plane? If it's going to be worth it to install couple of amp and a sub. Should I go with a separate speaker plan? And crossovers? Ect..  Should I triad out the factory speakers with newer ones, should I run a single sub? If any one has installed this receiver before or can help me configure how and what I should use to up grade the speaker/amp part of my systems or a good book I should read. I have worked with Alpine and Toyota...and just about every other brand and vehicle known to man. You do not need an expert on Alpine and Toyotas specifically to help with your question. It is a general audio topic.

Your personal preference and wallet is what should determine the upgrades.

As far as if certain upgrades are "needed" depends. If the speakers that are in the truck now are blown..then basically you "need" to replace them.

If the system has decent speakers but not enough loudness and clarity..then you "need" an amp. If there is a lack of bass for your prefernce..which would be for any pick-up truck..then you "need" a Subwoofer. If one subwoofer is not enough for you...go with more.

In other words...if you asked a 17 year old "bass head" what is the best thing to do to your truck..they might say 4-15'' subs with 5000 watts...and put lambo doors on it with neon lights. If you asked an "audiophile" they might suggest a single 8'' in a sealed enclosure and 10,000 dollar tweeters that pop out of the dash on small linear actuators. If you ask me I would use a small 4  channel amp with 2 way components in the doors (or kicks if going sq comp) 2 coaxials in the rear and a single 10'' sub in a ported enclosure powered by a mono class d amplifier.
