I would let a shop do it; or if you want to try, but ask them about a PAC piece to integrate it.

I agree, but I would stay away from anything with "xplod" in the name.

most factory cd changers will not work with an aftermarket head unit.  with all the MP3 head units out nowadays, i dont see a point in having a cd changer.

with all the proper parts, you can do the job yourself.   Any car audio shop will have the parts that you need for the job.  If you want to buy online, go to crutchfield, they have a nice vehicle database that will show you the parts that you need to do the job.

sony has gotten a bad rep over the years, they still make a decent head unit, but if you are looking at lower priced head units, i would check out the models offered by Pioneer.

Just in my past experiences the Sony Xplode line isn't very reliable. I'd go with Alpine or Eclipse. Just my opinion.

My front stage was comprised of a cheap sony head unit. A $ 17 dollar pair of tweeters, and a $59 pair of Sony XPLOD 5 1/4" doors in KS 2006. It's not allways about what's popular. It's about knowing what to do with it. Don't let anybody tell you you purchased crap.

I never said he "purchased crap". I gave him some advice, plain and simple. Take it or leave it. You can only do so much with lower quality equipment. If you want to replace what you buy every year or so, get X-plode. If you want something that will last and sound better, get Alpine, Eclipse, or some other quality equipment. You don't have to spend a fortune, but quality goes a long way to me.

Forgive me. I didn't mean to sound rude. I just think that Sony is getting better and better each year by integrating their signature stuff with their entry line and making a better piece of equip. They also get a pretty bad rap that I don't think they deserve. I change my sony stuff every year to the new line that comes out. I do it by choice though, not necessity. I think Eclipse is great stuff but in "price" is much much higher. If I filled up my car with Eclipse, i'd spend a fortune.
