I'm looking for a nice SQ sub that's got some umph to em but im not sure what I want. I've got an MA Audio hk1998 amp, 600w @ 4 ohms 1200 @ 2, does that make the W6 out of the question? I'm a little reluctant to send 1200 watts to a 400 watt sub, even with the gains low. Somone suggested I get 2 W3v3 in a JL box, I've also thought about getting a w7. Could somone give me some pro's and con's to each setup? I think i might get more SPL out of 2 w3's but i havnt heard em.

A dual 2 ohm W6V2 would be perfect if they make that configuration. I heard a W7 and a W6v2 and actually liked the W6v2 better than the W7.

Nope, they only make dual 4's and my amps not 1 ohm stable. I should have mentioned earlier I'm leaning towards 12's, maybe 13.5's for the w3v3

They don't.

I've owned every sub your talking about except the w7...

You *WILL* get more SPL out of w3's ... better efficiency and more cone area... and they sound absolutely outstanding.

That said the w6v2's are also, of course, exceptionally well made, but they require a *big* box.. that "small box excellence" marketing crap JL likes to spew really irritates me.

Anyway, looking at your amplifier you really aren't in a position to run a w6.... maybe a w7, since you will get a net-8 or net 2-ohm load from an amplifier that is mildly overrated....  Either way the w6 will be way out of the recommended power band.

If I were to purchase everything again, I would, absolutely without qualification or question, choose W3's.

In your case, I would, absolutely without question also choose the w3 in a dual-2-ohm configuration.

I would *love* to do this in my car...

Uhh.  You will need a BIG box for this setup.  Something >3.5cft.

personally i wouldnt do a 13 at all if your looking for really good SQ.  Yes they will sound good but a 10 or 12 would be best depending on the music you listen to

What makes you say this?  Have you heard any of the 13's JL offers?

Whoa.  That is an exceptionally .... bizarre... assertion.

Since you 'sell them everyday,' perhaps you could expand on your thinking with more than.. hmm.. I count 0 words about why you feel as though they lack in the 'sq' department.  Perhaps you could expand your thinking here.  I'm really quite curious.
