okay, I drive a '97 four door tahoe, I want to put 4 MA1800XL's firing towards the front (hopefully). I'm going to use the HK4000D amp to drive them. I understand I'm not going to have anytype of sound quality, but I'd love to see some huge spl numbers. I'm open to ALL suggestions. I plan on having a 1800 or 2400 kenetic battery in front of the amp and I've done the big 3 upgrade and all that great stuff. Anyones input would be great.

Um...you got a 300 amp High output alternator and a couple big batteries in the back for that amp??? It won't put out squat if you can't supply it the power it needs

I would highly suggest you look inot upgrading your power system as reccomended above.   Also unless you plan to completly wall off the back of the vehicle I would not fire forward.
Fire up with ports firing back, with the box or port at least 12-16 inches away from the back hatch/door

I do have a 300 amp alternator. Would the 2400 kinetik be enough or would you recomend going with multiple dry cells?

I do want to completly wall it off. Would you run one massive port or several smaller ones. MA recomends 3 ports with 37sq in of port area per sub. If I did the math right, one big diamond port in the middle would run 21 1/8" x 21 1/8" for all four subs.

I don't think one 2400 is enough...I would look into Odyssey(sp?) and other batteries...Kinetik isn't the best out there. Check into Powermaster. Their 3100 and 3400 series batteries will rape a 2400

Dont be to sure on the kinetiks losing the battle aginst the powermasters.
If you already have one 2400, I would just add another and call it good.
Or add 2 more 2400's and a modified cell to run the amp of 18 volts, that amp will take it, but depending on what organization it may put you in a even higher class, the wall enough is gonna make it tough
In usaci anything with a wall at a major event will be between 160-168DB for just a modified class, it only goes higher from there
Thats why I would trying to get you to consider running a non wall setup, you could get something in the low 150's if box is built and tuned right. This could win shows depending on the organization (USACi, DB Drag, MECA, Iasca, ect ect) but not garanteed

Well I do greatly appreciate the input guys. This past weekend we held a USACi show at the store I work for and had a fairly decent turn out. Had some guy hit a 150.8 with two RE 15's in a two door explorer. Didn't even run a sweep, just came to the line, burped it, and drove off.... thats the kind of stuff that makes me smile.....
