Can the Xa5000 be run in a 4 channel mode without the sub channel.  I'd like to add this amp to power my front components (MB Quart dse213) as well as a pair of 6x9s (MB Quart DKE169).

The thing is that I would like to add the sub at a later date.  I have an old Infinity Basslink that I would like to use until I had cash for a sub/box combo to run off the xa5000.  Could this be done?

Yes. No problem at all.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Yes it can be done. You will still see the same amount of power in 4 channel mode as you will in 5, the 5th channel is strictly sub only. This is a great amp, where abouts are you looking at it?

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Right at your shop Rob!  I'm the one with the black Sunfire who unfortunately can't resist loud music and blew my MB Quart components.Of course I knew I ran that risk by not amping them in the first place.   I'm looking at July sometime hopefully for getting back to your shop.

Where I stand right now is kind of at the point of deciding which speaker/amp setup to go with.  Since I have had a limited budget , and the inability to travel due to working 3 jobs , I have had to try to find ways to acquire the necessary equipment for my audio system.  Through birthdays, Christmas gifts etc., trades, and a couple of online purchases I have most of what I want.  At this point I need your expertise and help in purchasing the rest of what I need through you.

I also need to know which setup to go with.  I have a few options.

I currently have the following products:

MB Quart DSE213 5.25 Components (to replace the ones I first bought from you)    35-90W

MB Quart QSC213 5.25 Components - (higher power handling/shallower depth/ but a larger tweeter)  60-120W

MB Quart DKE169 6x9 for rear deck   60-140W

Infinity Basslink

My concerns are which amp and speakers to go with.

Should I go with option 1:

DSE213   35-90W

DKE169  60-140W

Eclipse XA5000   50W x 4

Infinity Basslink until I can add a sub/box setup later

or Option 2:

QSC213   60-120W

DKE169    60-140W

Eclipse XA4000   125W x 4

Infinity Basslink for now and a XA1000 / sub later

Would this be too much power? And would the tweeter fit in the factory location?

Your help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Also , if you have some quotes on these products that might influence my decision.

I'd also welcome any ideas or suggestions from anyone else who might have any knowledge of these products or setup.
