n2 faceplate dead?

I've had my n2 for a year and a half now, works flawlessly, until now. All of the buttons on the faceplate other than the left three are dead. Is it safe to say that a new faceplate would fix this or is it a bigger problem? The steering wheel remote still provides the functions the knob on the right once did as well as the screen by going through menus.

check out pioneer's website. they have been having issues with the ribbon cables going bad and are replacing it for free. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com look to the bottom right corner of the page for the bulletin.
