Can anyone tell me where on the firewall of a 2006 Impala to run an 8 gauge power wire to my amp?

The only ones I saw were the large wiring harness near the floor, and the one for the shift cable.

on passenger side under top edge of carpet, there is a square grommet that has one harness running though it. pull out the square rubber insert, drill a hole through that on your bench. then tap a hole through the actual boot there, comes out right behind and under the alt. feed your wire though the hole in the insert, and through the boot, push all in.

I saw the big harness near the passenger's floor. Thanks, I see if I can remove the rubber boot and put a few cables thru it.
