If you were doing a vehicle for sound clarity, loudness, an all around excellent 6.5 component set for front and rear doors, what would you be using? Amp and Speakers... I was thinking Infinity Kappa Perfects but Im seeing some negative opinions here on the board. Trying to keep costs below $300 or so a set.

I'd double that $300 and skip the rear fill or at least use what's there, and use the $600 on some high quality components in the front in a heartbeat. Oh wait, I did.

my favorite would be the focal 165k2p. but a litle out of your price range. im going to have to agree with dwarren here. i ran just fronts in my truck for a long time while it was under construction. and didnt hardly notice the rears when i finally got them installed. if you amp your fronts properly and go ahead and leave the rears out and splooge on the fronts you will def not notice! (your passengers will hate you) unless your one of those that runs 4 6x9s in the rear and think your "tumpin" cuh!! look into the focal 165kf im pretty sure you can pick those up for around 550 or so. nice speakers if you like a slightly harsher tweeter. if you like a smooter tweeter look into the boston pro's. they should be right in the same price range.

You might also check out the Pioneer TS-C720PRS set. They did rather well in CA&E mag review. I have set of the 5.25's and they sound better than the Focal 165v's I had. Just my opinion though...

The Pioneer Premiere's are indeed a amazing set of speakers. Morel should also be on that short list.

I am going to join the recommendation band wagon, Rainbow, the Dynaudio Esotec (although these are far past the budget) and my new favorites Hertz (any set from any of their lines has been fantastic) !

I like the Focal's, but they are too bright and/or detailed for my liking.
