I need a lil bit of help on this one. I've been running a 13w7 powered by a 1000/1. I have a 4 gauge wiring kit. The 80 amp fuse that came with the kit blew as soon as I turned up the volume(stock Bose setup in a 99 NIssan Maxima, I only added the sub). Then we tried a 100amp fuse and that blew as well, I used to have those fuses in a MAXI style, now I have ANL style fuse holder. So if Im doing this correctly, 1000 watt/ 14.4 should equal 69.4 amps. What is wrong here?

Also what the hell is dual 1.5 ohm? cuz that is what the sub is....??? ugghhh i want to figure this out(I have everything set up correctly I just want to know the "behind the scenes" of it all)

I was also contemplating the thought of putting the 13w7 in the house.(lol) I was referred to this power supply. http://www.sportsimportsltd.com/80ampfurelow.html  Anyone want to help elaborate on this amp issue I'm having? Would this safely power the 1000/1? I need to figure out how much MAX amps the 1000/1 pulls, right?

4 guage power wire should be fused with a 150 amp fuse. Read here.

Dual 1.5 ohm refers to the voice coil configuration or the sub. It is necessary to know this when wiring a woofer to an amp.

No, I doubt there are in home converters at a reasonable price that will be near powerful enough for that amp. For 500 dollars you might as well buy a home amp that runs off 120volt instead of that converter. Car audio belongs in the car just like home audio belongs in the home. That simple.

that is if the amp is 100 percent efficient and not accounting for losses

so then it would be even less than 69.4 amps? so therefore in theory that power supply I linked to in the first post should be good enough for the 1000/1 max need for amps?

No, there would be more current draw than 69.4 amps.  Just add the 150 amp fuse mentioned above and you should be fine.  The fuse is there to protect the wire in case of a short.  The amplifier has it's own protection.

Are your 1.5 ohm coils wired in series or pararlell? ( God I wish I could spell that word )

You used the Canadian spelling?

13w7 with 1000/1, fuse? -- posted image.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
