i am 16, me and my dad got this car back in december, havent seen it in a while cuz its in WI (i live in IL) but i recently went to WI for the week to work on it. it was in storage, idk how long but it has org tires from 64 still on it, still decent(usin them as driving tires till we replace them) its a push button trans i think 2 or 3 speed idr. it has 19k ORG MILES!!! our machanic asured us it was the org miles, since ive had it i replaced spark plugs, air filter, fixed a rear door lock that was jammed, ran about 2 tanks of gas thru it(230 miles...rolled 20k while doin that) i need help with the lead solution, i added a can of lead sub. and i will be every 2 tanks, its supposed to keep the rings good or something, my question is will the sub. do the same as the org lead, is there other stuff that may be better then a sub. (w/o having to replace the rings?)
also it has the 361 v8
heres some pics

I love those old classic cars. Hard to get parts but so easy to work on. Pleeeeeeze do me and others a big favor..........if you put in any kind of system big or small , try to install it in a way it can be easily removed without destroying the cars interior so as to help retain the cars value. Im sure you already knew that but just thought Id throw that in there.

You could always do a system with something like this for a headunit... http://www.casmfg.com/
I've installed two of these units and have had great results. Being honest with you, they are NOT sound quality units but they look fantastic and are very functional! They do have RCA outputs also.. Here is one I put into a 1985 Avanti...

sorry about the late response my computer monitor broke, and my parents wouldnt let me use there computer, i just bought a new one...and yea.

i dont plan on screwing with the car at all, the console im going to make will just be simply placed in there, i never planed on drilling any holes, cutting anything, just disassembling the interior enough to hide the wires under the doors, earlier this summer i brought my single 12 inch xplode to WI and installed it. and then i realized im not going to do my plans with the fiberglassing ill just make an mdf box for it.

the car still needs some work tho, the carb need to be cleaned for sitting so long in storage, it needs new tires(STILL orig 64 tires) and when i was driving it i noticed that the speedometer was off, not by like a cuple mph it said we were goin 90+ when we were goin 60+(varified with my cuzs gps on his phone)

anyone know how to fix the speedometer?

oh and overworked the orig sterio is like a 1.5 dim slot, i planed on leaving it in there just cuz it matches the dash and the pioneer hu i have in there will go under it...your hu would work in my cuz's 64 cutlass bcuz it has the 2 knobs on each side...if thats what that kind of head unit is.
