I recently purchased an alarm/remote start specifically for motorcycles. I wanted it for the two way pager alarm but figured since I have the remote I might as well use it.
It seams like a very basic system and the alarm I have already installed. I have all the wire attached for the remote start except for a pink wire and a gray wire. When i push the start button the bike will crank but it won't catch. obviously it has something to do with the unattached wires. The only way I can get it to start is if I turn the key to the on position.
Can anyone please help??!!

Without more information an answer might be hard to pinpoint, but my guess would be that one of those wires (probably pink) needs to go to ignition.
What is the make and model number of the unit? Do they offer it's install manual online, if they don't, can you scan and post it?
The 2000 is fuel injected? If it's not you'll need to pull the choke anytime it's cold.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

look, I had the same issue too until I looked the diagram of the my bike.
When you turn the key to acc, there may be another circuit that needs to be energized/completed.
in my yamaha, the circuit was from the computer to the safety relay.
I sued a relay to short these two wires while in remote start and presto
renee
