The alternator will charge the battery fine,so that the electric start has plenty of reserve.Attaching a smartcharger shows low
charge and then holds a charge lower than the alternator.There is
enough of a charge to kickstart. A conventional trickle charger will
bring the charge up to electric start function after about a two hour
charge.The battery in my opinion is stored properly/smart charge for
the off season.About four years old.
