GPS on a Motorcycle

I'm an automotive GPS installer but iIhave never done an install on some of the higher end Motorcycles i.e. BMW, Ducati... I was wondering if anyone had any tips.

Was the unit made for motorcycles? If not then the first thing you need to do is take a multimeter to the battery to make sure it is 12V.

The unit is auto sensing and has an opperating range from 6 to 30 VDC.
