I have a motorcycle that I would like to hardwire my garage door opener to. I would like to press my pass button (basically flash my brights) and use that 12 volt trigger to activate my normally 3 volt battery powered opener. I know that I can wire up a relay to incorporate the battery aspect, but I don't want to have to swap out the battery. Is it safe to do this with just a resistor? and if so, what size?
