I don't usually like to ask for suggestions, but does anyone know some decent marine speakers? I realize that none of them are truly waterproof, but I plan on taking care to limit their exposure to water.  They will just be powered by the HU, which will be sealed off, so I can avoid an overpriced "water-resistant" (cough, laugh) and just get a moderate priced unit, which I am also undecided on. The boat is a 17' open bow Bayliner (older) so I realize this setup isn't going to "blow me away" no matter what I do, but I'd like to be able to jam while i'm cruising, ya know.

Waterproof = MB Quart Nautic series with a 3 year warranty.

Waterproof = Eclipse Marine series with 1 year warranty.

CD Player = MB Quart NRA-450 marine cd with cough cough marine coated circuit boards AND 30 second anti skip buffer which is perfect in a smaller boat like yours, after that I would look at any Eclipse cd player or a really old school Panasonic Rebel Gear.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Wow! Thanks for the replies! I've been seaching the 'net a little and all I keep coming up with is crap like Pioneer, Dual, Bose, etc. I had been leaning towards the Infinity's, since they were the only ones I had seen that I wouldn't hang my head and mumble when asked what they were. I was gettin' pretty discouraged there. Now I've really got something to go on!

er, oh yeah. More power. The MB's ask for a minimum of 60 watts each, and the Eclipse's say this:
  • Continuous Power Handling: 60W
  • Music Power Handling: 120W
  • So what does that mean? Is that a minimum or maximum (RMS) of 60W? I'm thinking and hoping it's max, since I don't have the proper charging system to run an amp. It'll have to be HU only.
