i got a avital 4000 remote start unit/keyless. It was a open box unit and did not have the rangemaster antenna. Where can i find an antenna that will work or another rangemaster? its a 3 pin white connector.

Also, its going on a 2000 sebring with sentry key, and factory alarm/keyless. Some say to splice the aftermarket keyless at the RKE module, others say its a 1 wire system, has anyone installed one using the original RKE wires?

Check out http://www.directed.com - they may have a replacement you can order. If not, then find a local dealer that sells any of their products - Viper, Valet, etc. all use the same antennas as that Avital. Also eBay might work.

There's absolutely no good way to interface the signals from a factory keyless remote to control any kind of aftermarket piece...however if I remember right that Avital has an input for a (+) trigger start - you can hook that to the doorlocks and set it up to remotely start the car.  You have to hook that to the lock motor lead, not the wire from the doorlock switch.

You still should get that antenna and remote - or at least borrow one while you're doing the install...none of the program settings can be changed without a remote.

Pulsing the input should allow you to change any menu settings, it definitely works on the newer systems so I would have to think it did on the older systems as well. I agree with picking up an antenna and remote, the operating range will be far superior than that of the factory remotes.
The one-wire door locking is intimidating at first, but actually very easy to interface with. There are a lot of posts in this forum that covers how to do this properly.

ok maybe i wasn't clear, i do want to use the avistart remote and all, just to unlock and lock the doors, can i use the factory rke wires which are 2 wires from the module, one to unlock and one to lock, instead of using the one wire method. i do not want to start the car via my factory remote. i still cannot find a rangmaster antenna anywhere, the new dei products seem to be a 4 wire configuration, not my precious 3 wire.

Ok...I'm still a bit confused, but I think you're trying to say that there's a factory RKE module with lock and unlock single wires that go to the BCM? I've always assumed that the BCM on those cars received the RF signals directly - however if you've got wiring info that says otherwise that'd work; as long as you make sure that they are straight (-) or (+) switched wires.
Also, I think you're probably right on pulsing the (-) activation input for programming twelvoltz - the Avital's manual doesn't say specifically that it's possible but the brain is the same as the 561T(which will do that) and I can't imagine they'd change that much internally.

chris....just to let you know, this is NOT the current model line...it is the Avital stuff from prior to being acquired by DEI. Totally different product. It took a bit for it to kick in, but then I remembered that 'rangemaster' antenna. Then coincidentally I had a friend call me saying he wanted to upgrade his system in a 95 T-Bird and did it last Friday. Put in an Avital 4400 2-way and pulled out a Avital 6500 with that rangemaster antenna.
Pulsing the input on the newer systems that have the activation input hooked up definitely allows you to change programming options. I do it all the time.

Ok well I can put my foot in my mouth a bit avital 4000 -- posted image. ...seriously DEI's nomenclature is kind of retarded then because the two Avital 4000s that I did were DEI product. It doesn't make sense to me that they didn't call the new one the 4001, 4000N, 4000SuperUltraMegaAviStart or something to differentiate just a little bit.
