open the door, turn the ignition on then off and press the Valet button twice holding it down on the second push.
Once the LED and siren blink/chirp once, let go of the button and push it 4 more times holding the 4th push. the siren and led will blink/chirp 3 times.
continue to hold the button and press unlock on the transmitter.
let go of the button and push it 2 more times holding the second press down. The siren and LED will blink/chirp 4 times.
continue holding the button down and press unlock on the transmitter.
release the button on the valet switch and turn the ignition on then off. You should be done now.

Year make and model of car?
Sounds like you don't have a door trigger hooked up. If the 791 doesn't see an open door, it won't go into programing mode.

Key ON, Key OFF.
Press and hold valet button until siren chirps ONCE.
Release valet button....Press valet button 4 times and continue to hold on fourth press. Siren will chirp 3 times. Press unlock on remote. Release valet button.
Either wait 15 seconds for programming to time out, or turn the ignition ON.

door trigger wires dont require relays. so the prggramming for you should work just fine.
