i recently installed a viper 791 xv in a 2004 chevy trailblazer with factory keyless using the directed xk01.

remote start and locks work fine but i cant get it to recognize the doors open. is there a way to reset the xk01? or just something i am missing?

the xk01 will only pick up the front doors opening over the bus, the rear doors you will have to wire straight to the triggers

the firmware is amdl

i think i figured out the issue but  not sure how to correct it i did not have the wire hooked up from the viper to bypass module.

it says in instructions to make all connections then purple last and plug in, now the wire output from the bypass module is not responding

Slightly confused - which wire wasn't hooked up from the viper to which one on the bypass module?

here is the install manual

http://www.xpressdownload.com/magnadyne/getdocument.aspx?documentid=670

the violet/white door sense trigger is an output from xko1 should pickup door open through obd11 wire and tell the viper alarm the door is open and its not, i have the voilet/white hooked up to the h1 connector green (-) door trigger input on the 791xv.

the direct wire told me to use the light under the dash panel but this vehichle does not have one and has the delayed dome,

the voilet/ white was hooked up after i  had all of the connections to the xk01 and remote satret to check etc... in the xko1 it says to hookup the obd11 wire last. i hooked up the voilet/white to green wire last.

hope this helps explain

The reason for hooking up the violet wire to the OBD-II plug last is because if it's connected while the XK01 is powering up, sometimes it can freeze the data line on the vehicle (according to Bypasskit).  If the XK01 isn't doing anything and the doorlocks also don't work with the switch, the data line has most likely frozen and I would suggest disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to reset it.

If you check out this repost of DirectWire info for the '04 Trailblazer on this site, it doesn't mention the door trigger being at the underdash light, just the fusebox under the rear seat.  It also gives you the individual door trigger wires and locations, which you'll probably need for the rear doors.

After all that I'm still confused. Is your XK01 picking up the front doors now?

Something else to keep in mind - although both the 791XV and the XK01 say "Directed Electronics" on them, and Directed makes DirectWire info - is that the instructions for an XK** module often conflict with DirectWire (and when this happens, you should follow the XK module's instructions first.)
