2000 civic alarm/remote start

alright ive decided to install a r.s. system into my car. besides using the python 1600xp and a 689m module since it has a standard tranny does anyone know of anything else that i need. and does any one have any tips before i start.oh it does have a factory keyless entry if thats needed info

it didnt go clearly but it is a 2000 civic

Your installing that in a manual transmission?  and whats a 689m?

the 689m is the NSS neutral safety switch.l it acts like the compustars reservation mode.

You wil need to by-pass the factory transponder if there is one. Open the steering column cowl and see if there is copper wire in plastic with 2 cables coming of it. If so you will need a transponder bypass, eg DEI 556U.

Sorry, I meant to say around the ignition switch barrel and coming off NOT coming of!

There shouldn't be a bypass needed on the 2K.    01 is when this came into play.

OK you two,  but it just goes to what I was saying about the electrical differences. All EU market cars had to have transponder immobilisefrs factory installed by Jan 97 In fact VW went this route in 93/4 with the Mk III Golf/Jetta
