increasing alarm range cs 2013fm

Hey guys, I have a Crimestopper CS-2013FM alarm installed in my car(1995 Ford Mustang). Is there any way to: 1) Increase the range of the alarm 2) Make the remote work better when obstacles are in between me and the car Problem is I can see my car and have to get fairly close to it before the remote will unlock the car. Any help is greatly appreciated. Deep

well the alarm has 3000 ft range, but being a crime stopper unit, your looking at 1500 TRUE range. if you installed it make sure ur antenna is in a clear spot on a windshield and not behind a tint band OR check the ground on the unit. usaully a weak ground will limit your range and the antenna placement also limits.

I did not install the alarm myself. Cant remember off the top of my head, but I think the antenna(recieves the signal) is behind the tint across the top of the windshield. Are you saying that it should be relocated? Is there any method to boost the signal? Thanks for the quick response!

Window tint will reduce the range as all tint, whether the band at the top of the window or aftermarket add on, contains metal. Remount the antenna just under the band of tint on the front window. Make sure the battery in the remote is a good one and at full voltage. There isn't any way to increase the range other than holding the remote at your chin when using it. (Believe it, it does add twenty or so feet of range) The only thing you can do is eliminate the things that reduce the range. The higher you are the better chance you have of a clear path between the remote and the antennna. Make sure that the vehicle's battery is good and all the connections to the unit are solid. yea, i would never place it there. put the antenna facingdown below the tint band.

would it be ok to put it below the tint band, but on the driver's side of the windshield? Pretty much top left corner of the windshield just below the tint band?

oh and what exactly did you mean by 'face down'?

you can put it anywhere along the windshielf if you like. When i mean face down. Make the antenna part point vertically. right now its horizontal.

I moved the antenna, but doesn't seem like the range has changes.
