Can someone give me the play-by-play on how to disarm my passive arming on my Python 1600XP? In other words, I don't want the alarm to turn on by itself after 30 sec or so. I have a 1991 Nissan NX2000 if that helps.

I tried to do a search but nothing was helpful. I did find out that Viper 560XV is the same, but the manual is very confusing to me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Active arming / passive arming selection is on menu 1 feature 1 on page 41 of the install manual 560XV

Just follow the programming routine on page 39

  • open the door
  • turn ignition key on and then off
  • press and hold the valet switch. When the led flahes once and the horn honks once, release the valet switch
  • within 10 seconds, press and release the valet switch once (select feature one) . Press and hold the valet switch. After a second, led will flash once to indicate you have accessed menu one feature one, horn will honk once too
  • press lock button on your remote, led will flash once and horn honk once
  • release the valet switch. Close the door and you are done
