I am looking forward to installing a viper alarm in a 2003 yukon denali.
However I looked up the vehicle information in the wiring section and I was wondering since i'm not used to working on cars newer than 2002 what is the difference between the the part that says LOCK MOTOR & UNLOCK MOTOR (door locks right?) And the section POWER LOCK what are POWER LOCKS?

the Lock motor and Unlock Motor are the actuators in the door.  The Lock and Unlock are the control wires.  Use the XK01 bypass module which controls the door locks via data bus.

Can you just wire the door locks using relays interfacing with the lock and unlock wires or have these cars gotten to complex, where you need to purchase modules and extra crap to make the alarms work with them now?

It's time vs. money.

You NEED a bypass, so get the one mentioned in megaman's post.... takes care of locks as well.

makes the job easier....

steezs,
All 2003-2006 full-size GM trucks are wired pretty much the same.
Using the search feature here, search for various models.........Escalade, Silverado, Tahoe, and so forth.
Since these trucks were so popular, there are many, many posts that should have the information you need.
Also, are you installing only an alarm, or alarm and remote start?

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
