I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee with a Viper 5900 installed.  It used to work fine, but now it doesn't seem to arm.  I can lock/unlock the doors, and the remote start works, but the blue LED doesn' flash when "armed", the warn away doesn't work, and you can rock the car back and forth and the alarm doesn't sound.  The remote is a bit worn, meaning the display can't be read (it may have been dropped or something at one time; I "inherited" the car from him).   I've looked through the manual but can't find anything obvious (at least to me).

Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Is the LED lit solid all of the time? If so your system is in valet mode. Have a look at page 27 of your owner's manual it explains how to put the system into and out of valet mode.
If your LED is not lit solid there may be more to it, but I have a feeling that this may be the problem as your doors still lock and unlock with the remote.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

sounds like its in valet with the door open you can turn the key on and off then press the valet button and the led should go out, or if you dont know where the valet switch is you can open the door and press lock unlock lock and it should take it out of valet.
Thank you

TwelVoltz and ccajay,

Thanks for the quick replies,   I should have been more clear about the blue LED status light.  I said it doesn't flash.  What i should have said is that it is not on at all (my bad).  No blue LED whatsoever.

Thanks.
