Hello, I bought a cheap Two-way FM remote start kit for my 2nd vehicle.  I have no problem doing the remote start side of things but the door locks are confusing me.  The vehicle is a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 gasoline Auto.  It has a factoy keyless entry remote that works.  I want to also hook up the new remote starts lock/unlock function.

It gives me these options in the manual,

#1 - Negative Triggered, Relay-Driver System

#2 - Positive Triggered, Relay-Driver System

#3 - Reverse Polarity

There is also a vacuum system and multiplex type which I know doesn't apply to this vehicle.

I don't know if I need to ass relays or use existing ones?  On the system's control module there is the following wires:

- Purple

- Blue/Black (unlock) fused 10a

- BROWN / Black

- Violet/Black

- GREEN/ Black (lock) fused 10a

- WHITE/ Black

Any help would be greatly appriciated!

I now have the remote starter working.  I have not tried anything with the locks yet.  The kit came with a relay for the door locks too I found.  There is one problem, the truck won't shut off when hitting the brake with the key out.  I have the + brake signal hooked to the correct wire on the brake pedal switch harness.  It's 0 volts when up and +12 volts when pushed.  I rechecked the connectrion and it is soldered in.  Not sure what else to try.

I have a cheap remote starter in my beater Escort, and the brake switch, even though it's connected right like yours, still needs me to hold the pedal for almost 2 seconds...

I can hold mine for as long as I want and it doesn't shut off....

Anyone else chime in?
