So i attempted an Auto Start on a 2006 VW Jetta Diesel.Removed the steering column cover and then the black box being held by one torx screw which was a challenge.
Finally got to the ignition wires which is only in this spot and does not go down the column.
Once i installed the box back, now the Airbag light is constantly on and does not go away even after disconnecting the battery.
Te vehicles going to the Dealer to have the airbag light code cleared.
My Question is for the installers who have worked on one of these vehicles-
Would the airbag light come on due to removing the black box to get to the harness,
Has anyone experienced the same problem?
Thanks in advance.

Two things about VAG cars. Never ever disconnect  ANYTHING with the ignition on. They set their software so you will always get shafted and have to pay for a dealer to turn it off.

I didn't get an airbag light, no.
I did get a light that's a little picture of a steering wheel, related to the steering angle sensor. A short drive around the parking light turned it off.

Most warning lights except airbag and ABS will turn off after a short drive.

Our military, your forefathers, don't forget so far the British Army has only lost twice, to you colonials and to the Afghanis in the mid 19th century. An early US Congress took a vote on the then future US language. English beat German by ONE vote.
