So this is probably something simple that I am missing.  But here goes.   I am trying to do something special to the parking lights to the F250 for my father.  When he plows snow this winter, he would like the 5 marker lights to flash as he plows.  So I found the BROWN positive parking light lead in the passanger A column.  I wired up a relay and flasher (below) and eneregized the wire and hooked up a switch to the 86 lead.  The switch is hooked up to iginition.    My question is this.  I had to cut the line in the column so that this newly installed circuit does not energize the entire truck.  Is there a way to still have the parking lights come on with the lights?  The truck will need this to pass PA inspection.  Can this be done with diode?  Or any other solutions?

Thank you for your response.  It totally makes sense now.  I tried it with a single diode with no success, but after seeing the diagram i realized where I went wrong.   Thanks again.
