I bought the Compustar 2WSHLCD-S and the Blade-AL bypass with the key ring etc and I’m having a local installer do the work.

My only concern is the “wait to start” install. The installer wants to use the Compustar unit to hold the ignition on for a set time for the glowplugs to heat up. The Cummins Diesel group says to wire it to the “wait to start” line from the engine as the start length is different as the weather gets colder and no wait time in the summer. No one in the group knows for sure what wire can be used for this option for my truck. My installer said if I could find the info he would wire it my preferred way.

Does anyone here know what wire or unit is needed?

Thanks

Would that be in the harness going to the cluster display?

I may be wrong. You cannot use the Wait to Start wire on this vehicle. For the WAIT to START, use the programming in the R/S  for the 5, 10, 15 or 20 Second Wait to Start Timer.

On that truck you will need the LONGEST wait time that is programable.

There is a glow plug relay under the hood...but it only "works" when the engine is cold. so timing it is the best solution.
