While installing my alarm right now, the driver's door just will not lock or unlock even with the factory remote! Does anyone know why or what I must have done incorrect?

I have disconnected the aftermarket alarm and it still will not work although all the other doors lock and unlock! Anyone have any ideas?!

If it worked before, you may have blown a fuse.

This is wierd cos I checked all the fuses for the door locks and they are all okay. Did I have to require a special module for the door locks? According to the diagrams here it was just straight forward + for both lock and unlock...

There is only 1 fuse for the door lock/unlock circuit. It might also help if you include the year of the vehicle, as well as the Make/Model R/S-alarm unit.

Update on this : Well I did notice that the driver's door lock relay clicks when I press the remote (on the factory alarm) once which only suppose to open the driver's door BUT the door lock does not do anything! Now I am not sure which relay controls the driver's door lock but I guess I can figure it out... BTW, I checked all the fuses in the dash and none are blown - are there any other fuses that could cause this?

Any ideas from people firmiliar with this vehicle?

remove the door panel and test for voltage directly at the door lock motor when you press the button on the door or remote. if you get power there you have a bad door lock motor. if no power there you have an open wire somewhere between the motor and relay, could you have possibly unplugged something? that is what i would do to start narrowing down what the problem is.

ckeeler thanks for the advice but it was kinda late by the time I got back on this forum to see if anyone responded. Well, come to find out one of the driver's door lock wires (the tan wire) broke INSIDE the tan insulation probably (and I am gonna be honest), when I yanked on it. Honestly I did not think that it would have broke the strands of wire inside it - I mean come on, this vehicle is less than 10 yrs old not like 50 yrs old!! Well anyway, I ran a new wire piece of wire and it works just like it use to now escalade driver’s door lock dead? -- posted image.

BTW, I installed the alarm and remote start bypass module (DEI Module 556LW I think) - everything works great except I would like to wire interior lights so that when the alarm goes off the lights inside come on, etc. and a few other nice finishing touches. Well, I know where to come look if I get stuck and I hope maybe this hiccup will help someone else one day!

awesome. i figured it would be a broken wire being that you stated all the other doors worked except for that one.
