I have a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee which has this system that prevents the ignition working until you insert this small metal pin-like key into a hole under the dash, then remove the key, then the ignition will turn. It is some type of immobilizer system. There are 4 or 5 wires going into this small black box with a blinking red light that is under the dash. I would like to take this out of the system. Can anyone please tell me how to do this? Thanks
steve

Yep, get under your dash and disconnect the wires going to the unit. Your starter wire will be cut...thinking the wire will be yellow, you will need to reconnect the 2 ends of this wire.
