I have installed a remote starter, just a basic one in a 2007 tacoma, and now the airbag idiot lights are on... no idea why, if anyone has had this problem, could you let me know how this problem was resolved, as i haven't a clue.. also the dome light doesnt come on and the buzzer doesnt buzz with the door open.. the vehicle is not in front of me but im pretty sure that one is a fuse. but for the airbags, i dont know if ive unplugged a plug or anything cause nothing seems out of place to me. oh and also do the unlock/lock wires require a diode between the starter and the truck? thanks

I dont think you need a diode for lock/unlock...Just a double pulse...The door triggers do need diode isolation.(but since this is just a remote start you probably dont need it...!) Is the remote start working properly...??  What did you use to test wires in vehicle...??? Sounds like something was incorrectly hooked up or incorrect testing of wires...?

Does the airbag light only come on during remote start...? Worst case list what connections you made...

i used my multimeter to test the wires.. the airbag light is on while driving and the passenger airbag indicator sais its off aswell, while driving. its an automatic sensor on the passenger where you need someone heavy enough to safely need the airbag. the starter is functioning correctly the doors lock and unlock. and no connection was made to the door switch or dome light.

start the truck normally with the key and note how the dash lights turn on and off before you start it. then remote start it. if the lights on the instrument cluster dont turn on and off exactly as they did when you started the truck with the key, then you either have something wired wrong or you have completely missed an acc or ign wire.

As sound security stated.... start the truck with the key.... and pay close attention.

QUESTION: did you tag BOTH ignitions?

Think you have a trp to a dealer's diagnostic equipment in the near future.  It really takes some serious naughtyness to cause those problems all at once on an Oriental vehicle. You might also have a bad door contact or broken a cable to cause those symptons, but I would check ALL fuses, it may be linked to something else, such as the control processor giving you the other problems.

Try disconnecting the battery for 20 to 30 minutes to see if it does the trick.
