Hi all,

I recently installed an Auto Page Rf-525 into my 89 Crx. Everything works great except the Power door locks i installed. typical 2 wire actuators. I am running 2 relay's for the lock/unlock,and they work fine except i get a buzzing from both actuators and the relay's? What could be my problem? I have checked for sufficient ground and power. I have checked everything i know to check and have come up short.

Please help!!

Can you tell us how you have it wired? WHEN do they "buzz"?

Yes they buzz during lock/unlock using the remote. I have keyless handles and i have also tested each actuator individual and no buzzing.

I used this diagram when wiring up my relay's

Have you tried disconnecting one linkage rod at a time to see if they still buzz? It might be that the mechanical linkage might need to run more freely, sorry if this is suck egg time but when ever I install actuators, I check the physical movement to make sure everything works smoothly and freely, technicaly, and I apologise for being anal, in practical terms your wiring will work, in theory the left relay has the coil round the wrong way, 86 should always be pos coil and 85 neg.

This part is out of left field but I wonder if the buzzing is down to back EMF at the coil, diodes across 85 and 86 please, bands towards the pos side, it will also protect the alarm's output.

Have you used a volt meter to ensure you are getting adequate power when locking or unlocking?

Well it acts like its almost getting o much power. I can lock/unlock and after its locked it keeps trying to pull or push.

Another thought, is your lock/unlock time dutation set to minimum (0.8sec) via the alarm programming?

What happens if you BRIEFLY (1/2 second) trigger the lock and unlock relays yourself, not with the alarm. Like Howie said mentioned, you dont want 3 and a half second pulses.

I have not set any parameters of the alarm so far. was doing a preliminary run and checking all aspects of the system functions.

If your referring to detaching the actuators from the alarm and lock unlocking i have already done that. i checked each actuator individualy from the alarm and no buzz/humming from the actuators.I also have key less handles so in case your referring to using the key to lock/unlock i cannot..
