Would i need to connect 2 more sirens and a strobe light to my compustar alarm? Do I tap into the siren output wire?

Would be best using 3 relays, assuming your output is positive you would hook that to pin 85 of all 3 relays. connect all 3 pin 86's to ground. Hook all 3 pin 87's to 12v fused at 15-20 amps battery power, then run each pin 30 to the individual sirens, grounding each siren near where it is mounted. Hope that helps. if adding strobes add a 4th relay to turn them on as well. May want to run a separate fused 12v for the lights on pin 87 of that relay however.

excuse the crudeness...my diagram software expired

basically that will give you independent outputs safely without overloading the alarm wiring. make sure the siren relays are all matching so you dont get multiple chirps at different times while arming and disarming. Obviously you can use whatever color wires you have available.

You can eliminate the first relay, not needed, go straight to existing siren, just join the other three relay feeds to it. Second turn the 86 and 85 connections round, the convention is to make 86 the pos and 85 the neg sides of the coil. You will get into trouble if you ever have to read or work your way through a manufacturer's diagramme.

Why four relays? Two relays would be more than sufficient to do this job! Heck One could do the job as you don't have to worry about the strobes illuminating constantly, as the flasher would be buiilt in to the unit that came with the lights!

Mr phununit! you can use just one relay for the sirens and fuse it at around 15amps nothing more! sirens don't draw that much current that they would require three separate relays! wire your single relay just as mentioned above! If you want the strobes to blink along with the siren you can also use this same relay to feed the strobes!

And as howard said reverse the polarity of the coils!

Also not to mention the effect that four energized relays would have on the battery, assuming the alarm triggered while you were away!

85 and 86 are correct in his picture. A single relay would more than do the job in this application. They are rated at 40 amps. He may be looking at 2 amps per siren.

In his picture yes they are correct! but in his earlier description he has the polarities in reverse!
