First off I have to say that I searched the forums for about an hour to see if there was any advice before I posted and could not find my answer. So...if this is a duplicate post I apologize! Car is 2000 corolla that had this system pro. installed. (only thing not wired correctly was the hood pin switch...it was just grounded to the chassis to always be closed)  Anyway...I had a major problem with the unit blowing the EFI fuse so I just replaced the brain thinking it would work. I am able to access all programing modes but when I try to use the functions...nothing works! I try the start button and nothing happens??? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Remote start doesn't work, but how about the buttons for locks and trunk?
If remote doesn't work at all: bad antenna, antenna cable damaged, antenna not plugged in, or remote not programmed to unit.
If locks and trunk work, but remote start doesn't: hood wire is seeing ground, brake wire is seeing positive, or BLACK/ white neutral safety wire is not seeing ground.

Thanks for the response....The trunk release is mechanical on the car. The locks are power but the unit was never hooked up to the wires so they don't perform that function either. It's sole purpose was remote start and that is it. As far as the other items in question...I completely erased all transmitters from receiver and reprogrammed the new remote. The led would blink correctly when entering the program modes and when using the remote top toggle thru functions....that worked correctly as well and the led would flash to confirm choices made with remote. This is why I am so lost!!!

OK, sorry if I wasn't clear. I should have asked if locks/trunk were connected or not.
Regardless of being connected, when you hit that little Lock/Unlock button, it should flash the car's parking lights once when it's trying to lock, and twice when trying to unlock.
You'll also hear the onboard parking light relay clicking inside the brain.
The goal is to figure out whether you've lost all remote functionality, or just the remote start isn't working.
But following the possible issues above........the first step is to figure out which category of problems you're in. Either A, the remote portion of the piece is totally not working......or B, the remote portion is fine, and you've got an issue with the connections of the remote starter.

Well....I got it all to work today and have to thank you for your help but to be honest, I have no idea what the cause was as I did a bunch of stuff. But to answer your question in the most recent post...no I was not getting a response from the lock / unlock function. Funny thing is that I had no idea that it should have responded the way it does now as I have never seen the system work properly. The car is my fiance's car and the only time I actually looked at the system was when she last tried to start the car and and fried the EFI fuse. That left the car dead with the key as well. I replaced the fuse and tried the system again with the same result. So I unplugged the power and had her use the car normally. To fix the problem....I purchased a completely brand new unit. I replaced the program switch as well as the toggle switch and the antenna and wire. Problem was the installer connected one end of the toggle to the hood pin switch wire and then the other end to the ground and brake switch wire. It was working and cancelling each other out some how! After re-wiring correctly and re-programing...it worked! Again...I don't know what the problem actually was but I am happy that it is fixed as I can now go back to my projects!!
