Hey guys I have a viper 791xv & 555l bypass on a 2002 escalade, I got into an accident and had the battery off for a week afterwards the rs doesn't work,I put the key in the rum position and still nothing, it starts and dies. Is it possible the 555l needs to be reprogrammed, if so do I just unplug it and do
the programing, it never locks me out of starting the vehicle
well?

I wish I had a real, true, reliable answer for you....but I can just say from experience.
The instructions for the 555L simply say to make the connections, start the car's engine by key, and let it run for at least ten seconds.
Theoretically, the thing should be "relearning" every time you start the engine with the key.
However, I've found that if I make some change to the car, plug the module in, restart the car......it doesn't relearn.
But, if I swap in a new module, then put the old one aside......and the next day I use that old module in another car, it works fine.
My only suggestion would be to unplug the module and leave it alone for a long time. Maybe unplug it, go to bed, try plugging it in in the morning and restarting the car and see what you get.
P.S. Sure it's a Passlock issue? Is the car's Security light flashing when you try to remote start?

are you sure its a 555l,or 556l?they program differently, after reconnecting the battery did you start it with the key first or did you try to remote start it first? as chris said i would try unpluging it for a while(but while its unplugged do not try to start with key as the passlock wires are cut)the plug it back in, start the truck by the key, let run for about 15 seconds, then shut it off and try the remote start. but if its a 556l not a 555l it will program differently

yea its the 555l it was started by key first i check all the connections and fuses. it starts for 2sec and dies the security lite does flash but i can start it with the key just fine it never locks me out after every attempt. im goin to unplug it for a while and see what happens, the modual is about 5yrs old maybe it went bad, when i have the truck running with the key i try to do the short stop feature where you hit the rs button and the truck stays running when you pull out the key but it trys to restart itself.
well?
