I have a 2001 Chevy Truck and I installed a GMDLBP xpresskit bypass module. The problem is the chart to determine the vehicle platorm number does not tell you what to set the module at for a 2001 model chevy truck? The chart lists 4 for a 2003 and newer? is this what i should use?

As far as I know, and I've never tried it, the GMDLBP won't do doorlock control on the '99-'02 GM full size pickups. The only thing Bypasskit lists as a doorlock/Passlock bypass on that truck is the DLPKGM.
If you're so inclined, you could try it out as a platform 4 and see if it works - the worst side effect I can think of happening then is that the data line might freeze and you'd have to disconnect the battery, but it could potentially save you a little bit of wiring time.
If it doesn't work there, set it to platform 5 (Passlock bypass only), and hardwire the doorlocks.

I think what i will do is rob the 457G off my 2003, use that on the 2001 because it shows to work on 2001s. I will use the gmdlbp for my 2003. How can i reset the GMDLBP for type 4 instead of 1. I believe its in 1 right now. The instructions don't tell how to reset the platform type. Thanks for the quick reply.

A 2001 Chevy Truck does not have data-bus door locks. Neither the 457G or GMDLBP will control the door locks. Both modules will bypass the Passlock II just fine.

Never used GMDLBP in a 01 Chevy. But doorlocks are easy to get and a PLJX works good and cheap.

What is the best way to wire the door locks? I am using a Python 1401 on a 2001 Suburban. The python has a Green (-) lock  (+) unlock and Blue (+) lock (-) unlock wire for door locks. Any help is much appreciated, installing rmeote start n the 2003 was much easier!

Connect directly to the lock/unlock wires mentioned in this post (scroll down to the 2002 Tahoe info, which would be the same as your truck).

At the risk of sounding like i dont know anything I can simply wire the Green from the remote start to the lock motor gray, and the blue from the rmeote start to the unlock motor tan, I see at the bottom to diode isolate each wire? What does that mean?

Absolutely not. Those are the lock and unlock MOTOR leads, which rest at ground and could fry some transistors inside the Python if you connected to them.
What you want to do is connect to the lock and unlock SWITCH wires, which are lt. blue and white respectively.

Got ya, thanks, I will ignore the diode isolating.
