Hey all,

This is my first post, have searched for the last few days but can't seem to find my answer.

I have an 04 Dodge Ram 1500 with sentry key and have done lots of wrenching/stereo installs but never a remote start and bypass.

I picked up a Python 4202P and know I need a bypass kit. I was thinking the XK531 as it appears to have more functions then the DLPKCHG1 for my truck.

What I'm wondering b4 I get too much into this is what will I need to wire on the remote start if I am using the data 2 data connection on the bypass to the remote start. Will the bypass take care of everything and I wont have to wire the remote start at all? Or does the remote start still have to be wire up to the truck for it to work?

Thanks

You still have to wire it up. The xk531 does a lot but it doesn't save you from actually installing it.

So what do I have to wire up for the remote start?
Is it basically going to be connect the heavy gauge connections (unsure about the FLEX RELAY INPUT 87A key side of FLEX RELAY), the parking light and the brake shutdown input?
