I am installing a Python Responder One 4203P and an XK05 into a 2009 Toyota Venza with SmartKey.  I am curious of the wiring for this.  I found 2009 Venza in the list of vehicle wiring, but it does not specify if it is for the smart key or not.  I am working on this car this weekend and hope that it won't be too much of a pain.  Any help and tips would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks Jeff

www.xpressdownload.com
Manual Downloads
XK05
And then there should be various install guides you can download there, just look at them all and you should see your car.

I was looking at this manual from xpressdownloads already.  I just wanted to verify it was correct, I dont have any reason to believe it is not, just wanted to make sure.

Do you know if the Arm and Rearm are needed for this vehicle.  Typically I can get by without having to do them.

I have done that car and in that venza the alarm would go off when remote started bit shut off after a few seconds on it's own. To prevent this you must unlock the car and then relock after remote start. Another note:
-The wires are a PIA to strip as they are extremely thin.
-You must power the second ignition. Not powering that wire or having it loose will cause the brake lights to stay on therefore interfering with the remote start.

Very easy vehicle to do. Most of the wires are behind the glove box if your going to use the XK or a Fortin, but if you use the iDatalink, there's no need to go to the glove box for any wires but there's no takeover available. The vehicle shuts down after door is opened during remote start sequence.

Thanks guys.

I would assume that you did not have the OEM alarm wires hooked up if the alarm goes off enice, or not set for the right pulse duration?

Do you have the rest of the wiring colors and location for it VelocityMotors?  OEM alarm arm, OEM Alarm Disarm, Door locks, etc.

Why would the vehicle shutdown if the door is opened?  Is their a way to fix that?

Thanks

The door lock wires we use disarm the vehicle and work while the car was on. We use compustar and all that was needed was to program to unlock before start and re-lock after start. No problem with us. It was working perfect. The idatalink version looks fast but I really don't like the setup that the car shuts off when you open the door. Someone at tech told me that they are working on that issue(which is not really an issue but an inconvenience). The car probably doesn't have a secure take over and that is more then likely why they require the door trigger setup. The xpresskit/fortin setup doesn't need this and will work fine. In my opinion the idatalink is the fastest but not preferable until they have a secure takeover setup.
