2001 chevrolet bypass problem

i installed viper 160xv in 2001 chevrolet silverado and bypass module xk06. all looked good until i went to remote start car couple hours later. it was working flawless but now will start the car and dies.i pushed lock and unlock bottons in same time and car is staying running. then it will remote starts just fine .so what would cause car is not staying running after sometime it sets ? and why it will run just fine if i put it in timer mode? anyone has installation instraction on xk06 for this car? thank you

Did you flash the module yourself or did it come pre-flashed? I ask because if you look at the revision history for the GM firmware on the XK06 it shows... PKG5 3.00 - Firmware History v3.00      Problem resolved: Was not working properly in all vehicles. and not programming in SRX and Rendez-vous v2.03      Problem resolved: Was not working properly in all vehicles. and not programming in SRX and Rendez-vous v2.0      Fixed issue in GWR, Worked only in D2D. Fixed reset issue in D2D. I would try reflashing the unit to the latest firmware to see if that doesn't resolve your issues. You can find the install manual here.Installer, IT support, and FFL. i did flash it myself to latest firmware which is PLXR 3.00  not PKG5 3.00

I am sorry, I admit I didn't check Bypasskit's site thoroughly before posting. I assumed (we all know how that goes) that it was a data based bypass solution only, not a resistance based one. The XK06 does not offer a data based bypass for the passlock II systems. Ever since I tried my first data based passlock II bypass (the GMBP) I stopped using resistance based bypasses...a few connections for supplying the unit and only one vehicle wire connection to the OBD connector and you're done. As far as your problem is concerned it seems like your bypass is losing it's R value if left to sit too long. Did you verify that the connections to the unit are all operating as they should? The constant hot is constant, ignition is coming on when it should, the status wire is turning on properly, etc? Can you swap the unit for another? Maybe even change it out for a GMBP or similar data based passlock II bypass?Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

yes -this is something weard. if bypass loses its R value why it will regain R value if i starting truck by putting remote start in timer mode.? Also i did not connected wires for disarming oem alarm .is that critical? i get inside ,locked myself with oem remote and tryed open door manualy-nothing happened so i discarded oem alarm disarm wire. and when i did shutdown diagnostic test it gived me 4 flashes. Status wire i used blue wire which comes from sattelite relay. all connections are done properly-i double checked all of them. i will try to switch to tach checking but that can be done next weekend only. thanks for your help

Some (if not all) modules re-learn the R value each time you start it with the key. The Four flashes in diagnostics mode signifies "transmitter shutdown". If you do not have a factory alarm there is no need to hook up the factory alarm disarm wire. You could use this wire to turn off the RAP feature of the truck after remote start. That truck does not have factory over crank protection. A tachometer connection is required IMO.Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

This problem is solved -i changed to tachometer check and problem went away. Remote will not work correctly on 2001 chevrolet silverado if not set to tach check for some reason.Thank you for all support provided.
