Hello all,
I searched and couldn't find a similar problem. I installed a Viper 5901 into my 2005 Acura TL without nav on Sunday. I used the PKAll for my Immobilizer bypass and I had a friend at Best Buy flash the XK01 for my door lock/Factory alarm integration (Factory alarm is in driver's door, didn't feel like messing with it). I hooked up the XK01 D2D to the Viper 5901 and the only wire I had to install to my car was the violet to my Factory Alarm's data wire.
Everything worked as supposed to except... when I remote start the car, for about 4 to 5 seconds while the car is cranking, the alarm unlocks my doors. I can see the factory LED going off (Factory alarm disarms as it's supposed to) and the viper stays armed, but my doors are unlocked for 5 seconds, then re-lock after cranking.
Has Anyone ever experienced this? Is there a way to get the XK01 to disarm the factory alarm without unlocking my doors? I raised this question on a TL forum and someone using a canmax400dei instead of the XK01 says there door locks to not unlock during remote start, they were unfamiliar with the XK01 though.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Justin

thats pretty normal for most Honda and Acuras i've done... they unlock, crank, then re-lock.... only open for 1-2 seconds

So now... and maybe I changed something on accident while messing with this... the doorlocks stay unlocked the entire time the car is sitting remote started. The Viper is still armed, but the factory alarm isn't... anyone know how to at least get it back to where its only open for 5 seconds?

Exactly what "messing" did you do?
Since you are using D2D, I assume that you do not have the H1/9 wire hooked to the dome light wire?
You should also have the viper menu feature 2-5 set to off.

What version firmware is flashed to the XK01?

Hey Joebubba,
My friend is out today but he told me that he flashed the XK01 with the latest firmware, not sure which version.
The only wires hooked up to XK01 are D2D and the violet wire going to my factory alarm data wire.
Could you please explain what you are referring to when you say viper menu feature?
Also, when I installed the xk01, the LED illuminated but would never go out when I turned the car to ignition, I tried hitting lock and unlock with the Viper Remote and that did nothing, I tried hitting lock/unlock with my factory car remote and that got the XK01 to work with the 5901. Not sure why it didn't work per the directions.

You need to find out what version number he flashed. "Latest version" doesn't tell us anything.
Viper menu item 2-5 on pg 42 and 47 of the installation manual.
I believe the XK01 instructions intended you to use the factory remote, not the viper remote to program the module. I'm not familiar with XK01 programming nuances, but there's a chance that using the viper remote during the programming sequence screwed something up. Just to be sure, I'd reset the XK01 and reprogram using the factory remote only.

So I need to have:
nuisance prevention set to off
Valet switch pulse count set to... ? Off isn't an option, its on 1 now
Door trigger error chirp set to off
and ign-controlled dome light set to off?
Also you are correct about the way the module is programmed with the Factory remote. The xk01 manual talks about some programmable options, are any of them disarm factory alarm without unlock? Here is the install directions, check Page 3.

I was only referring to menu 2, item 5: ignition controlled dome light. Set it to off.
Personally, I'd set Nuisance protection on, but it shouldn't have anything to do with your current problem.
Leave the other two as is.
On the module modes (pg 3), #1 (priority unlock) is not available on D2D.
You'll need to use mode #8, option 2 to reset the module and then reprogram using the factory remote only. I have no idea if this will make a difference, but it's worth a try.
Other than that, if the you can verify that the latest version is flashed, then that may just be the way the XK01 operates (unlocks to disarm during remote start, then relocks).

So you think turning ignition controlled dome light will keep the doors from unlocking during remote start? Thanks for your help. I'm at work, don't have my factory key pad with me, I'll reprogram and try it when I get home.
