i bought 5901 as soon as they came out in canada, i belive first batch was in clamshell, not in box. and that was like 2 years ago i belive.

i installed 5901 by myself, i am a certified/licensed mecp advanced installer. this got nothing to do with installation.

when outside gets colder than usual, remote doesn't talk to brain, 2 way remote, 1 way remote , same thing.

this happed 4 times in past 2 years, never had any problem in spring/summer, but fall/winter time, especially in the evening or late in the night, randomly  doing this. it seems to me antenna is the problem but dei tech say it is brain that they changed and antenna is same.

but when randomly does this, all i have to do is manually oen the door, go inside, turn key in ignition and press button on antenna, after then everything function normal.. i do not think brain is losing program.

i heard something about redesign or recall because of the problem i was getting.

sounds like dei tech will not do anything about my 5901, what shhould i do to fix this problem?

should i keep tell them to send back my first batch 5901 for newly designed 5901?

Isn't there a fix with a 10k resistor on the blue wire of the antenna or sumn like that, not sure if i have it correct, do you have the seperate valet switch and led plugs on the unit?

You have the early version 5901 . I was told by the head installer where i bought my 5901 that dei sent them a bunch of replacement antenna's because they stopped responding to the remotes in colder climates . Dei is aware of this issue & dont know why they wouldnt just send you a new antenna .

Im not certain but i think he said only the early version of the 5901's antenna have this problem .

that is what i heard too but dei tech support saying it is brain that redesigned to accept 1 antenna harness(early design was 1 antenna harness into 3 seperate harness to brain.

and they will not exchange my brain. they told me to take care on my side.
