While waiting on my Viper 5301 to arrive, I decided to plan the connections as much as I could. I posted a PDF of the connections I intend to make and what I intend to leave unconnected. I marked in orange where I still have questions to answer.
Any comments/confirmations/criticisms on my Connection List
appreciated.
Thanks,
Wally

Possible issues:

1.) The (-)Unlock is White, not RED / White.

2.) FACTORY ALARM DISARM               GREEN/ LIGHT BLUE (-)                        IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL.

3.) The RED / Blue Parking Light wire is (+).  There is also a  PARKING LIGHTS ( - )              BLACK/ GREEN (-)             @ HEADLIGHT SWITCH.

As always, these wire listing guides are just that, a guide.  It is best to test and verify all connections.

Everything else looked good.  The only other step is programming the Viper to Tach Mode ( required to MTS mode )

and doing the Tach learn.  Depending on which Parking Light wire you use, set the Viper Parking Light jumper accordingly.

Soldering is fun!

Thanks. I haven't actually looked at any of the wiring yet - I will definitely confirm everything with multimeter as I go.
I was going to use the tach mode for engine monitoring, but I am really considering using automatic mode IF I am able to get a good neutral indication from ECM. Actually, I'll also look for parking brake switch (even though just a lightly-applied parking brake will still close it).
Thanks,
Wally

Tach mode is the most reliable way to start the car.  I agree that dealing with  "Reservation Mode"  is a pain but having the car start in gear can have very serious consequences. viper 5301, 1999 subaru outback -- posted image.

I'm pretty sure that there's a neutral safety terminal on the engine management. You could run the Viper as an auto. Test by trying to key start the car in gear.

Viper 5301 says neutral safety not ground, but it is. Viper 5301 in 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback. Locks work fine. Remote start with 2-way remote emits error tone and flashes lights 8 times - Neutral Safety Switch not grounded or not on. I verified it is on and even connected it directly to ground - still 8 flashes.
Thanks,
Wally

Remote start input- 5 pin connector, BLACK/ white must be to ground.  Do you have the toggle switch plugged in and in the ON position?

Yeah, I know.    I did it myself once.     Didn't forget on my subsequent installs.
