2010 ford explorer and viper 5701

Hello all! First off let me say that I have installed a remote starter in a 2002 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. That was an easy install because there was no door locks/hatch release/etc. to hook up. That and some help from this forum of course!. Well a few years and a new vehicle later...I decided to go for another remote starter. And I have a few questions. Vehicle: 2010 Ford Explorer Remote Starter: Viper 5701 Installation Manual: VIPER 5701 Installation Guide Vehicle Wiring Diagram(not sure if it's correct): 2010 Ford Explorer Wiring Diagram My questions: In the installation manual, it says I need to connect most of the wires up to relays...now does this mean I will have to have a bank of relays wired into the vehicle for all the wires? along with the diodes it says to add, or is it just referencing the relays that are already installed in the fuse boxes? Second question: There is a trunk release wire and a trunk pin wire. What are the difference? Thanks guys!

replace the # with #.

H1/1 is for the trunk/rear hatch release using the AUX button

H1/7 is for the alarm.  A trigger for someone opening the trunk, sounding the alarm when armed.

What   ""connect most of the wires up to relays"" are you speaking of??

thanks for the reply, and for pointing me to bulldog security for the wiring diagram. as far as the relay question goes, I am referring to in the installation instructions it says to wire some of the wires up to a relay. My question was, do I have to have this wired to a relay that I install? or would I wire it directly to my trunk release wire?

so basically I will have to install about 12 relays plus some diodes for feedback when installing this system?

ive just finished installing a 5701 in my wifes taurus.its a 98 so quite a few years difference between them but i was actually able to hook the trunk release directly to the release wire coming out of the keyless entry module. most of the wires that the manual told me i may need relays for i ended up being able to connect directly to the output it was going to be used for only having to add diodes inline. i found that nearly all wires i needed where interfaced to the gem module with a negative pulse trigger so possibly that may apply to youre explorer but you would have to check with a dmm, i used alldata repair on my pc to locate the wires i needed  so i could test and check them with a meter before connecting and it was all good. the domelight supervision was tapped to the interior switch on the light dimmer control panel, the drivers priority unlock from the keyless then the unlock for the rest of the doors and trunk and the locking.the only thing i did notice was that each individual door had its own trigger wire going to the gem so i had to isolate all four to make sure any door being opened would set the alarm off. so far i have not had to use a single relay which im pleased with. i just had a look on the alldata repair on the pc but mine only covers the explorer till 08 and even then very limited and basic info, time to upgrade i think
