While I was running the power wire for my amp through the firewall, I noticed "aftermarket" connections to the BCM wiring.  After I followed the wires to their destination, I came across a single relay and eventually a plug for an alarm and/or a remote start module.  However, the module was no where to be found.  Also, I believe I found the receiver for the FOB.  Is there a way to identify what type of alarm was previously installed?  The plug had the inspectors number on one label and then another number that was "6801".  I haven't pulled out what I believe to be the receiver yet.  It is ziptied behind the dash and i really don't feel like pulling the dash apart right now.  Any info you guys could provide would be great.  The vehicle is a 2008 Chevy Tahoe, Non-Navi/Bose.

Why do you think there was an R/S component, this sounds like an alarm with an off-board starter cut meaning pretty basic.

I didn't assume anything. I just didn't leave out the option of it only being a remote start and not an alarm combo. I removed the dash and it is the sensitivity level module for the previous alarm. The make is "Karr". I am going to assume it was installed by the dealer. Not sure why it was removed though.....

Probably because from what I've read on this site they weren't a reliable product.

if those connectors could be popped out of that old plug and slid into a new plug for your new alarm, it might save you some time running some of your wires. just because the color might be the same dont mean the job ot does would be though.

If your system moves you physically and not emotionally, you have wasted your money.
