Alright. So I have a Pontiac Grand Am 2003. 3.4L 4 door.
I am planning on buying an alarm system for my vehicle after a monster upgrade in my audio equipment that now makes it well over $2,000 invested.
I talked to Crutchfield and they have me under the impression (A few advisors say I will still have hard wiring to do, while others say no) that if I use the FLCAN module I will not have any wiring to do aside from like the horn and what not when installing the Code Alarm CA1551 that I am interested in.
I just want to know if that is true, if so that is fantastic because that would mean the install would only be a few hours after locating a place for the brain box, routing wires and installing the horn etc etc.
If it is not true, what wires am I looking at hard wiring to.

Here is a link to Flash-It :  http://www.flash-it.com/  Look up your car and down load the FLC AL(DL) GM1 install guide.  While this module will handle the locks, trunk ( while it is not listed, I did this exact install last year and it did the trunk release ) and Factory alarm, it does not provide door, trunk and hood status signals for your Code Alarm system.

This info from Bulldog for the door triggers:

The LIGHT GREEN/ BLACK (-) is for the DRIVERS DOOR this wire is located at the BCM, GREY Plug Pin B7.
The PASSENGER DOOR (and Rear doors if 4-door) wire is a LIGHT BLUE (-) is located at the BCM,
LIGHT GREY Plug, Pin B10 when connecting to an ALARM SYSTEM, use both DOOR TRIGGER wires and

if you are only installing an alarm, why buy a module? use a couple relays and resistors for the locks and save a bunch of green backs.

From what I read up on the FLCAN website and from what the tech support at crutchfield told me is that the module connects to my cars computer taking out the need to wire all but roughly 6 or so wires....
That is a significant drop in the amount of wires. Plus, I get the module for free programmed and ready to go if I buy from crutchfield so I am not losing out anything by acquiring.
