remote trunk release problem

Hi, I've installed a scytek g20 keyless entry unit, and everything works good except the trunk/auxiliary outputs. I've contacted the manufacturer and they are no help, and the distributor who I bought it from "tested" it and said it was ok(though I'm very uncertain of the legitimacy of their "test"). Everything is hooked up properly because when I unplug the plug to the control box and manually ground the trunk release wire(blue) at the plug, it works. Furthermore, I've done a voltage test to see if there is any voltage across the trunk release pin on the control box when depressing the remote and nothing. So my questions are: 1. Is there anything I can look at or do myself to fix this problem? 2. If not, is there a way I can use the working door unlock function/button to release the trunk? Such as trunk release occurs when pressing door unlock twice, or holding it for 3sec., etc? Thanks!

Maybe your unit has a second unlock wire that should be used for progressive locking you could probably use this if you have verified via a dmm that the trunk release signal from the unit is toast.commit your way to jehovah and he will act in your behalf. psalms 37:5

try using a relay sometimes when u wire the wires straight its not strong enough and u need to use a relay. It happened to me with a nissan where the wire is positive when its not touched and then turns negative when triggered so it might be the same test it with a dmm when from the trigger not pressing the button and then check it while pressing the buttonConfidence is the key to any project!!

I agree, you don't tell us the year/make, but many times the pulse isn't strong enough to operate the factory relay so you need to add your own....Mike M2

Thanks for all your suggestions. I ended up just scrapping the whole trunk release idea, it wasn't necessary and it works fine without it. thanks.
