Basics - Python 592 HD Responder (Alarm/Command Start)
       - 07 GMC Sierra Classic Denali
I just got an 07 Sierra Classic Denali and wanted to install the command start I've had for awhile in it. The truck had an Autostart two way in it with a Gmdaa bypass module in it. I wired it in using the same wires as the autostart did as they matched up on the wiring diagrams.
So my problem now is I have a ground when running wire from the bypass module to hook up and I'm not exactly sure what to wire it too and When I try to use the command start, the remote will say "Remote Start Not Available" and then I can hear the main Python module clicking and see the parking lights flashing its error code. The lights flash 7 times, According to the manual this stands for "Manual Transmission Mode is enabled and not initialized.
Thanks in advance, sorry if I repeated myself.

Also, I don't have the starter kill hooked up. There is also an immobilizer installed on the truck.

Don't have the Python 592 Install guide, but look for a output wire ( usually Blue ) labeled (-) 200 mA STATUS OUTPUT.

That is the Ground When Running output for the bypass module.

As for the Manual Transmission Mode error, your unit probably comes from the factory set for manual transmission vehicles.

Assuming the Sierra is an automatic, look for a programming option called Transmission Mode.  In a Viper 5901,
it's Menu 3, Menu Item 1.  Change that to Automatic ( Option 2 in the Viper 5901 ).

Soldering is fun!

Thanks for the reply.
Okay, cool thats the wire I was kind of thinking it was but I wasn't sure.
I found out what I did wrong when i programmed it for automatic transmission the first couple times, I misread the instructions and didn't click the control button after I found the right menu.
So now if I press the command start button with the 2 way it says Remote Start Activated and the engine light will come on but it doesn't crank over. If I put the key in the ignition and turn it to run then it will crank over and run. So I'm thinking that I missed a power wire possibly?

2007 GMC Sierra Classic is pretty straight forward and Passlock2.

12 VOLT CONSTANT               RED (+)  x 2        @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS

STARTER                                  YELLOW (+)       @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
IGNITION 1                                PINK (+)              @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
IGNITION 2                                WHITE (+)           @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
 ACCESSORY /HEATER 1        ORANGE (+)      @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
 ACCESSORY /HEATER 2        BROWN (+)        @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS

What are your connections on the Pythons Heavy Gage Ignition Harness?

How are you bypassing the Passlock2?

Soldering is fun!

There is a GMDAA bypass module.
12 VOLT CONSTANT           RED (+) x 2 to (+)12vdc Constant Input
STARTER    YELLOW (+)   to (+)Fused 30A Accesory/Starter Input
IGNITION 1 PINK (+)     to (+)Ignition 1 Input/Output
IGNITION 2 WHITE (+)    to (+)Fused 30A Ignition 2
ACCESSORY /HEATER 1        ORANGE (+)   to (+) Accesory Output
ACCESSORY /HEATER 2        BROWN (+)    Not Used
I believe that is how I have it wired. I tried to cheat by just using the quick install guide from the old command start and the install guide for the new command start. So I just cut the wires at the old module and wired the new one up to those wires.

Not too sure if the Python 592 H3 harness is the same as the Viper 5901.  ( Still can't find the Python 592 Install Guide. )

  Viper 5901                            Sierra Ign
H3/1 PINK (+)                          Pink
H3/2 RED / WHITE (+)             Red #1
H3/3 ORANGE (+)                  Orange
H3/4 VIOLET (+)                     Yellow
H3/5 GREEN (+)                     NU
H3/6 RED (+)                           Red #1
H3/7 PINK/WHITE (+)            White
H3/8 PINK/BLACK (+)            NU
H3/9 RED / BLACK (+)            Red #2
H3/10 NC                                NU

The bypass should be OK if the door locks are working.

Soldering is fun!

Ill tell you what the Install guide says
Main Harness H1,12 Pin
H1/2 red - (+)12vdc constant input
H1/5 black - (-)Chassis Ground
Remote Start H3 10 Pin
H3/1 Pink (+)Ignition 1 Input/Output
H3/2 RED / White (+) Fused 30A Ignition 2/Flex Relay Input 87
H3/3 Orange (+) Accesory Output
H3/4 Violet (+) Starter Output (Car side of starter kill)
H3/5 Green (+) Starter Input (Key side of starter kill)
H3/6 Red (+) Fused 30A Ignition 1 Input
H3/7 Pink/White (+) Ignition 2/Flex Relay Output
H3/8 Pink/Black (+) Flex Relay Input 87A(if required) of flex relay
H3/9 RED / Black (+) Fused 30A Accessory/Starter Input
H3/10 NC
Is that similar to the 5901? It looks like the wire colors are the same. I will make sure my connections are the same as that.

Yes, they are the same so verify your connections.

  Python                         Sierra Ignition switch
H3/1 PINK (+)                           Pink
H3/2 RED / WHITE (+)              Red #1
H3/3 ORANGE (+)                   Orange
H3/4 VIOLET (+)                      Yellow
H3/5 GREEN (+)                     NU
H3/6 RED (+)                           Red #1
H3/7 PINK/WHITE (+)            White  ( Factory Default setting = IGN2 )
H3/8 PINK/BLACK (+)            NU
H3/9 RED / BLACK (+)             Red #2
H3/10 NC                                 NU

Additionally, Tach Mode ( Menu 3, Menu Item 2, Option 4 ) is the most reliable for cold climates.  Connect the Pythons'

VIOLET/WHITE TACHOMETER INPUT WIRE to the Sierras' White Tach wire and perform the Tach Learn process.

Thanks alot, I found where I went wrong. I had the accessory/starter wire wired to the starter wire on the vehicle instead of the starter output (car side of starter kill).
So is this wire actually a wire that has power in run and start?
"H3/9 RED / Black (+) Fused 30A Accessory/Starter Input"
And the Starter Output and starter input wires I'm guessing can either be wired up as a starter kill or you can just use the starter output wire?
Anyways all works now, Thanks again its greatly appreciated. :)
